About DJDA

We are a family friendly dance school with caring and fully qualified teachers. All pupils are given the opportunity to participate in exams/medal tests in Ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical and street dance following the Professional Teachers of Dancing (PTD) syllabus. Pupils are also encouraged to take part in our shows, as performing is a fantastic confidence builder as well as great fun!!

Children’s University

At DJDA we are committed to encouraging all dancers to strive for excellence and enjoy the journey along the way! Our goal is to provide quality dance instruction through caring, professional teachers in a friendly, non- competitive, family orientated atmosphere. Correct technique is taught in a fun, relaxed but controlled class. We have great relationships with our supportive parents and the success of each dancer is the result of great team work between the dance studio and our dance studio families.

With help and encouragement, our pupils can believe in their own abilities and become more confident, not only in their performance but in their attitudes as well.

Dance classes at DJDA greatly improve posture and poise. Pupils hold their heads up high and express themselves with self-assurance.

Our dance classes are a great way to get physically fit and healthy whilst having fun. You get to use lots of different muscles, especially your facial ones!

Our Dance Classes

Here is a brief description of some of our most popular dance classes, all right here in Formby, Merseyside.

Ballet promotes physical strength and agility, it can boost concentration and develop an understanding of music and rhythm and it generates a love of movement. In addition to that it also teaches skill, grace, poise, self-discipline and self-confidence.

This is a fusion of lyrical dance and limbering. Each Grade commences with a warm up which develops in length and difficulty in subsequent grades. Limbering and strength are part of the PTD syllabus together with learning about music and its relevance to dance.
Ages 5+

Tap is a splendid form of dance to keep joints mobile, it also helps to improve rhythm and musicality. The Professional Teachers of Dancing Syllabus is taught from Pre Primary upwards. Pupils can also take medal tests if they wish.
Ages 5+

Have you ever seen dancers on music videos? Well this is what this class is all about. Routines are taught to up to date music by Miss Debbie and Miss Suzanne. Exams can be taken in this subject or you can simply attend for fun. Pupils also get the opportunity to show their own style and creativity as well.

My Daughter has attended DJDA  for the last 9 years. During that time she has had the opportunity to learn a range of dance and take exams. The teachers make learning dance fun and enjoyable and she loves going every week. She enjoys the dance shows which are rehearsed and performed every two years.
