Debbie Jay Harding is the owner and principal of DJDA. She is a registered teacher of the PTD (Professional Teachers of Dancing) and holds Associate and Licentiate status as well as being a Trainee Examiner. Debbie is a qualified Module one Acrobatic Dance Teacher and is also qualified in the Progressing Ballet Technique programme, as well as holding the RAD teaching certificate. As a youngster Debbie attended Miss Berels classes in Formby before studying for 3 years at the Former Elliott Clarke Theatre College in Liverpool. After graduating Debbie performed as a children’s entertainer on the Stena ferries to France, then travelled further afield to live and work in Japan as a professional dancer and Head Girl and Choreographer on various contracts for numerous months.
In 1998 Debbie passed her Teaching Exams with the highest mark of Distinction. Debbie firmly believes that children learn through fun. The correct technique is always taught but in a fun way that the children will remember and understand. Miss Debbie is married with two grown up children, she feels extremely lucky to do a job that she truly adores and is extremely grateful to all the supportive parents that send their children to DJDA.
2020 has been an extremely difficult year for everyone! Miss Debbie is extremely to proud that despite numerous lockdowns unable to teach face to face classes, DJDA has continued virtual lessons online via zoom.
